WATCH: Lakeith Stanfield is ‘Sorry to Bother You’ with Official Trailer

Annapurna Pictures released the official trailer for their upcoming film, “Sorry to Bother You.”

The official synopsis reads:

In an alternate present-day version of Oakland, telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success, propelling him into a macabre universe.

Lakeith Stanfield stars as Cassius “Cash” Green. He has been busy since his feature debut in the 2013 film, “Short Term 12.” Since then, he has appeared everywhere on film and television, including “Selma,” “Snowden,” and last year’s Best Picture nominee, “Get Out.” Stanfield also stars on the Emmy and Golden Globe winning series “Atlanta.”

Tessa Thompson stars as Detroit. Since her time on the teen-detective series “Veronica Mars,” Thompson has gone on to appear in “Selma,” “Creed,” and “Dear White People.” Her role in last year’s “Thor: Ragnarok” took her popularity to new heights, and she is something of the new it girl. She is currently in theaters with Alex Garland’s “Annihilation,” will soon star in season 2 of “Westworld,” and has several upcoming projects in the works.

Also starring in this sci-fi/fantasy/comedy is Armie Hammer. He started with one-off appearances in television series before his breakthrough role as the Winklevoss Twins in “The Social Network” in 2010. He went on to star in “The Lone Ranger,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” and last year’s beloved “Call Me By Your Name.”

“Sorry to Bother You” boasts a big cast of supporting players including Danny Glover, Patton Oswalt, Steven Yeun, Terry Crews, David Cross, and more.

Boots Riley wrote and directed this film. He is a rapper that launched his career in 1991 with The Coup. Over the years, Riley has collaborated with many artists in the music industry. This film is his feature debut for both writing and directing.

“Sorry to Bother You” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and played at SXSW on Sunday. It is distributed by Annapurna Pictures and will be in theaters nationwide on July 6.
