WATCH: Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville Star in First Trailer For ‘Ordinary Love’

Bleeker Street

Bleecker Street has released the first official trailer for “Ordinary Love,” directed by Lisa Barros D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn. The film stars Academy Award nominees Lesley Manville (“Phantom Thread”) and Liam Neeson (“Widows,” Schindler’s List”).

Joan and Tom (Academy Award® nominee Lesley Manville and Liam Neeson) have been married for many years. An everyday couple with a remarkable love, there is an ease to their relationship which only comes from spending a lifetime together. When Joan is diagnosed with breast cancer, the course of her treatment shines a light on their enduring devotion, as they must find the humor and grace to survive a year of adversity.

Barros D’Sa and Leyburn direct the film with a script by Owen McCafferty, a playwright who debuts with his first feature film project in this quiet drama about relationships enduring sickness. Manville was nominated for an Oscar for her supporting performance opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Phantom Thread.” She has starred in the series “Mum” and the films “Another Year,” “Maleficent” and “Mr. Turner.” Neeson is also an Academy Award nominee, recognized best for his lead role in 1994’s “Schindler’s List,” as well as the “Taken” films, “The Grey,” “The Commuter” and more recently, in “Widows.”

Barros D’Sa and Leyburn have previously collaborated on “Cherrybomb” and “Good Vibrations.” In 2013, their work on “Good Vibrations” landed them a Rising Star Award from the Irish Film & Television Awards.

“Ordinary Love” premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and has screened in London, Chicago, San Diego, and Mumbai. The film released in the UK in December 2019. Bleecker Street is distributing the film in the United States in theaters on February 14.
