WATCH: Meet David Oyelowo as Harold in New Featurette for ‘Gringo’

Amazon Studios and STX Entertainment are preparing for the release of their upcoming film, “Gringo,” with an all new featurette.

The film is a dark comedy about Harold, a mild-mannered pharmaceutical rep who runs into trouble during a business trip to Mexico. Harold’s boss, Richard, is mixed up with a cartel kingpin known as The Black Panther, and when the two turn on each other, Harold is caught in the middle.

David Oyelowo stars as Harold. The two-time Golden Globe nominee appeared in many films throughout the late 90s and early 2000s before his starring role as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Ava DuVernay’s “Selma.” He last starred in 2016’s “The Queen of Katwe” and last year’s “A United Kingdom.” In addition to “Gringo,” this year will be busy for him as he also stars in “God Particle,” the TV miniseries “Les Misérables,” and is preparing to begin production on “Chaos Walking.”

Joel Edgerton plays Harold’s boss, Richard.  Edgerton has also been very busy lately. His latest film, “Bright,” became one of the most-watched original films ever on Netflix. It has already spawned a sequel. Next month, he will appear in the spy thriller “Red Sparrow.” And he will star in two more films later this year, “Boy Erased,” and “Stingray.”

Harold’s other boss, Elaine, is played by Academy Award winner Charlize Theron. She has played a wide range of characters, from the heroic to the villainous, in such films as “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Atomic Blonde,” and “Monster.” Theron reunites next month with Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody for the comedy/drama, “Tully.”

Sharlto Copley, Amanda Seyfried, Thandie Newton, and Diego Cataño also star.

“Gringo” will be in theaters nationwide on March 9.
