Netflix today has released the hilarious trailer for “Love Wedding Repeat,” a British comedy set around different chaotic scenarios of the same wedding. It arrives on the streaming service April 10 and may just be the laugh out loud comedy that audiences need right now.
Sam Claflin (“Charlie’s Angels”) stars as Jack, alongside Olivia Munn (“The Newsroom”), BAFTA nominee Freida Pinto (“Slumdog Millionaire”), Joel Fry (“Game of Thrones”), comedian Tim Key and “Poldark” duo Jack Farthing and Eleanor Tomlinson, the latter starring as the bride to be.
The following is the synopsis for the film, as written by Netflix to accompany the trailer:
While trying to make his sister’s wedding day go smoothly, Jack (Sam Claflin) finds himself juggling an angry ex-girlfriend (Freida Pinto), an uninvited guest with a secret, a misplaced sleep sedative, and the girl that got away (Olivia Munn) in alternate versions of the same day.
British filmmaker Dean Craig directs his first feature and has penned the script, with previous writing credits including “Carrie Pilby,” “My Dog Stupid” and both the 2007 and 2010 versions of “Death at a Funeral.” Hubert Taczanowski (“Military Wives”) provides the cinematography.
Claflin’s first mainstream feature film was his role as Philip in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” before gaining further popularity for his performances in “The Hunger Games” franchise. Munn is perhaps the most recognizable of the cast to international audiences, having appeared in the acclaimed Aaron Sorkin television series “The Newsroom” as well as playing Psylocke in “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
“Love Wedding Repeat” is one of many original films that Netflix has hitting the streaming service this month. “Coffee & Kareem” starring Ed Helms arrives on April 3, along with the South Korean thriller “Time to Hunt” and the animated feature “The Willoughbys” further into the month among others.
