Netflix continues to roll out the original series. The streaming service just released a trailer for its upcoming new series “Mindhunter.”
This series follows two FBI Agents in the Elite Serial Crime Unit as they hunt down serial killers. The agents are played by Jonathan Groff (“Glee”) and Holt McCallany (“Jack Reacher: Never Go Back”). The cast also includes Anna Torv (“Fringe”), Cotter Smith (“The Americans”), Sonny Valicenti (“Office Christmas Party”), and Tyler James Larkin (“House of Cards”).
“Mindhunter” was created by Joe Penhall. He has written for several TV series and movies. He also wrote the adapted script for Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road.”
The eleven episode season will be directed by David Fincher, Asif Kapadia, Tobias Lindholm and Andrew Douglas.
Fincher was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director for “The Social Network” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” He has also directed a number of crime-based thrillers, including “Se7en,” “Zodiac,” and “Gone Girl.” Kapadia won the Academy Award his his Feature Documentary, “Amy.” Lindholm wrote the Best Foreign Language nominee “The Hunt.” Douglas directed the rebooted “The Amityville Horror.”
Fincher, Joshua Donen (“Gone Girl,” “The Quick and the Dead”), Charlize Theron (“Girlboss,” “Hatfields & McCoys”) and Cean Chaffin (“Gone Girl,”” Fight Club”) are Executive Producers.
All episodes of “Mindhunter” will be available on Netflix on October 13.
