WATCH: New ‘Nocturnal Animals’ Teaser With Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal

Nocturnal Animals

A teaser of a teaser is the latest promotional trick in Hollywood. Focus Features’ “Nocturnal Animals” is receiving the treatment today, with a sneak peek of the full teaser trailer set to be released Thursday.

The film, hailing from writer/director Tom Ford, won the Grand Jury Prize at Venice Film Festival. It has also had buzzy showings at Toronto International Film Festival. Our own Shane Slater had this to say of the film:

Ultimately, what it all boils down to is a grand, sometimes overwhelming feast for the senses. Combining cerebral art house elegance with nail-biting, gritty thrills, “Nocturnal Animals is the cinematic equivalent of having your cake and eating it too. So, come with a hearty appetite and indulge in its delicious, acidic pleasures.

The film is a haunting romantic thriller of shocking intimacy and gripping tension. It also explores the thin lines between love and cruelty, and revenge and redemption. Academy Award nominees Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal star as a divorced couple discovering dark truths about each other and themselves.

Adams is Susan, an art gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband’s (Gyllenhaal) novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale.

The film also features a stellar supporting cast. Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, Laura Linney and Michael Sheen are just a few notable names.

This is the second feature film from notable fashion designer Ford. 2009’s well-received “A Single Man” was Ford’s first foray into directing.

The novel “Tony and Susan” by Austin Wright serves as the source material for the film. “Nocturnal Animals” will run in select cities Nov. 18 and nationwide Dec. 9.

Check out the teaser below, and check back for the full clip tomorrow.

I will be seeing the film since I read the book. The synopsis of the film already sounds better than the book, and the cast looks amazing.

First, that pic of Amy is FIERCE. Red-headed Elvira realness. Second, I’m so excited for this!
