WATCH: New ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Trailer With Brand New Footage!

Rogue One

The new trailer for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is here. The new clip features an abundance of never-before-seen footage. It can be viewed below.

Lucasfilm’s “Rogue One,” which takes place before the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope,” tells the story of unlikely heroes who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star.

The new trailer finally gives a look at Galen Erso, Jyn’s dad. Ben Mendelsohn let it slip that he was playing Jyn’s father quite some time ago. However, this is the first good look at the character. He is heard saying, “Jyn, whatever I do, I do it to protect you.”

There are also better looks at the Death Star and everyone’s favorite menace, Darth Vader. Whereas previous trailers showed Vader’s back and famous labored breathing, this new clip shows him in action.

In addition, new footage shows the heroes of Rogue One going undercover. Jyn appears to be masquerading as part of the ground crew, while Cassian Andor snags an Imperial officer uniform.

The cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker. “Rogue One” is directed by Gareth Edwards, produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, as well as Simon Emanuel. It is executive produced by John Knoll and Jason McGatlin, and co-produced by John Swartz and Kiri Hart.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens in theaters Dec. 16.
