The international trailer for DC Comics’ “Suicide Squad” is here, and with it comes new footage of the infamous villains in action.
The new trailer features plenty of footage from the first official trailer, but it also provides a few new looks at Will Smith’s Deadshot, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc, Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang and Jared Leto’s Joker in fun, fast action.
The film will follow some of the most deadly villains in the DC Universe as they have to work together to fight even bigger foes for a secret government assignment.
Also starring in the film are Viola Davis as government agent Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jay Hernandez as Diablo, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and more. And although no official look was given of the famous caped crusader, Ben Affleck’s Batman will have a small role in the film.
Affleck’s first turn in the famous character – who has previously been portrayed by the likes of George Clooney and Christian Bale – was in the recently released (and widely panned) “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Despite its widespread negative reviews, the film managed an impressive performance at the box office during its opening weekend.
“Suicide Squad” is looking to repeat that financial success with its lighter tone, big names and equally big characters. A sequel to the film is already in the works as well.
“Suicide Squad” is directed by David Ayer (“Fury”) and is set for an Aug. 5 release date. The new international trailer can be viewed below.
