WATCH: New Trailer for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Promises an Intense Ride

Marvel has just released a new trailer for what is sure to be the hottest film of the summer, “Avengers: Endgame.”

“Avengers: Endgame” is the sequel to “Avengers: Infinity War.” Spoiler alert, but the last film left our heroes in a state of despair and tragedy after Thanos wiped out half of the world’s population. As a result, the Avengers must figure out a plan to counteract Thano’s act of genocide. We see what’s left of the team unite once again to save the world. Marvel has stated this will be the final installment of the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What’s interesting about the trailer, in addition to the intense music, is how serious it is. References to past Marvel movies are shown in black-and-white. Secondly, there is a distinct lack of jokes. This is a good choice, given how high the stakes were in the previous film. Those stakes have not been lowered and it’s great to see Marvel going for some genuine emotion. This really does feel like a culmination of what they created back in 2008 with the first “Iron Man.”

Avengers endgameIt will be impossible to list the entire cast, but it’s worth a shot. From the trailer, we know the usual suspects such as Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans are returning. We also get a chance to see Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel interact with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. Paul Rudd makes an appearance as Ant-Man and Jeremy Renner comes back from the shadows. This time, he has a mohawk.

Joe and Anthony Russo return in the directors’ chairs after they helmed Avengers: Infinity War,” and the previous “Captain America” sequels, all of which were highly acclaimed. Make no mistake, there is a lot to look forward to in this movie.
