Lakeith Stanfield

Lionsgate have released the second trailer for Rian Johnson‘s “Knives Out,” a star studded mystery à la Agatha Christie. The film world premiered at Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews, prepping its theatrical debut as one not to miss. First reactions praised Johnson’s film as a hysterically entertaining outing. The new trailer commits to the suspense.

The synopsis:

Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death. KNIVES OUT is a witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.

Toni Collette from “Knives Out”

“When people get desperate, the knives come out,” says Craig’s Detective Blanc. The trailer teases moments as characters are interrogated. The all-star ensemble to this whodunit includes Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell.

Rian Johnson directs “Knives Out” with a script of his own and promises a twist in the mix. He has directed “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” “Looper,” “Brick” and “The Brothers Bloom.” Johnson will also be returning to the intergalactic ventures with scheduled Star Wars installments to come.

“Knives Out” is produced by FilmNation Entertainment and MRC, and is distributed by Lionsgate. The film releases in theaters November 27.
