MGM released a trailer for the upcoming historical drama, “Operation Finale.”
The producers describe the story this way:
This thrilling true story follows the 1960 covert mission of legendary Mossad agent Peter Malkin as he infiltrates Argentina and captures Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi officer who masterminded the transportation logistics that brought millions of innocent Jews to their deaths in concentration camps.
Oscar Isaac stars as Peter Malkin. He is now most widely recognized for his role as cocky Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the “Star Wars” films, but his breakthrough came with “Inside Llewyn Davis” in 2013. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for that film, winning two years later for the miniseries, “Show Me a Hero.” He also starred in “Ex Machina,” “X-Men: Apocalypse,” and will star in another film this fall, “Life Itself.”
Ben Kingsley is Adolf Eichmann in this film. He won an Academy Award for playing the itle role of “Gandhi” in 1982. He went on to nominations for “Bugsy,” “Sexy Beast,” and “House of Sand and Fog.” The legendary actor has more than 100 film credits, with ten projects currently in various stages of production.
Lior Raz, Mélanie Laurent, Nick Kroll, Joe Alwyn, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Aronov, Ohad Knoller, Greg Hill, Torben Liebrecht, Mike Hernandez, Greta Scacchi and Pêpê Rapazote also star in “Operation Finale.”
Chris Weitz directs from a script by Matthew Orton. Weitz is also a writer, earning an Academy Award for co-writing the adapted screenplay, “About a Boy” in 2002. He also directed that film, as well as “Twilight Saga: New Moon,” and “A Better Life.” This is Orton’s first completed film.
“Operation Finale” is coming to theaters September 14.
