Walt Disney Pictures released the teaser trailer for its upcoming animated sequel, “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.”
The film is a follow up to the 2012 hit in which a video game villain sets out to become a hero, causing chaos with every other game along the way.
This installment finds Ralph (John C. Reilly) and his friend Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) causing even more havoc when they discover the wi-fi router.
Much like in the first film, “Wreck-It Ralph 2” features a stunning array of voice performances from a who’s-who of celebrities. Names include Mandy Moore (as her “Tangled” counterpart Rapunzel), Kelly McDonald (as Merida), Auli’i Cravalho (as Moana), and Ming-Na Wen (as Mulan). Also joining the fun are Ariel herself, Jodi Benson, and Arendale’s favorite sisters (Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell). Some other familiar voices include Anika Noni Rose, Anthony Daniels, Alan Tudyk, Taraji P. Henson, and Jack McBrayer.
Phil Johnston and Rich Moore return as co-directors. Johnston co-wrote the first film with Jennifer Lee and Moore directed. Lee did not return for this movie as she is involved in the “Frozen” sequel. Moore received the nomination for Best Animated Feature with the first film in 2012. He went on to win the prize last year for “Zootopia.”
The film is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and is separate from their work with Pixar. The original grossed nearly $500 million worldwide and is the 6th highest grosser for Disney Animation since 2007.
“Wreck-It Ralph 2” will be in theaters Thanksgiving Weekend.
