WATCH: Rami Malek is Freddie Mercury in Teaser Trailer for ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

After months of speculation, behind-the-scenes problems, and controversy surrounding what would and would not be included, the first look at “Bohemian Rhapsody” has arrived.

The synopsis of the film from 20th Century Fox reads:

“‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.”

Rami Malek stars as Freddie Mercury. Malek got his start in TV, with a few films thrown in. He appeared in “Night at the Museum” and “Larry Crown,” before taking on more critically acclaimed films such as “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” and “Short Term 12.” He won an Emmy for his leading role in “Mr. Robot,” which also earned him two Golden Globe nominations.

The rest of the band is composed of Gwilym Lee as Brian May, Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor, and Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon. Mike MyersAiden Gillen, Lucy Boynton, and Tom Hollander also star.

Dexter Fletcher took over directing duties after Bryan Singer left for a handful of speculative reasons. Because Singer had completed significant portions of the filming, it does appear the two will share directing credits.

Anthony McCarten, fresh off an Oscar nomination for producing “Darkest Hour,” wrote the script.

The film is set for theaters on November 2.
