What would you do to seek justice for a lost loved one? Latrice Butler (Regina King, “American Crime”) searches for answers about her son’s murder in a new clip for Netflix’s “Seven Seconds,” set for release in two weeks on the streaming platform. Who left the seagull in her son’s deathbed, and do they know who killed him?
The series is an upcoming crime anthology created and executive produced by Veena Sud (“The Killing”), which follows Latrice, the mother of a black teen shot and killed by a white cop. With the trial of the century and an attempted cover up of the teen’s death sending the city into chaos, everyone is quickly caught up in a web of lies with secrets they aren’t willing to divulge.
The clip shows Latrice raising unanswered questions about her son’s death to her husband Isaiah (Russell Hornsby, “Grimm”) and her brother Seth (Zackary Momoh, “A United Kingdom”). Clare-Hope Ashitey (“Doctor Foster”), Beau Knapp (“Sand Castle”), Michael Mosley (“Ozark”), David Lyons (“Safe Haven”), Raul Castillo (“Special Correspondents”), Patrick Murney (“Public Morals”), Michelle Veintimilla (“Gotham”), Nadia Alexander (“Blame”) and Coley Mustafa Speaks (“Circle”) also star.
“Seven Seconds” comes to Netflix on Feb. 23. Watch the clip and previous trailer below.
