While the Oscar ceremony has wrapped, we still have a look at some post-Oscar festivities. At the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s annual Oscar party, Taron Egerton performed “Tiny Dancer” with Elton John himself. Egerton did the vocals while Elton John played the piano before eventually singing along with him.

In the upcoming “Rocketman,” Taron Egerton will play the famed musician. Even if his singing voice doesn’t exactly match Elton’s, he’s still proving that he’s got a set of pipes. Along with the film’s latest trailer, this is further proof of his singing abilities. It’s going to be a long, long time before next year’s Oscars hit. However, this could begin Taron’s potential yellow brick road in the upcoming Best Actor race.

Here’s an official studio synopsis:

“”Rocketman” is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. This inspirational story – set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by star Taron Egerton – tells the universally relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture. “Rocketman” also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.”

In addition, Dexter Fletcher is at the film’s helm while Lee Hall has penned the script. Also, Elton John is an executive producer on the picture. So, the film and Taron Egerton certainly have the right endorsement.
