Netflix today have released the first trailer for their upcoming teen comedy drama “I Am Not Okay With This” which debuts Feb. 26.

The new series starring Sophia Lillis (“It”) is based on the graphic novel by Charles Forsman and is produced by the team behind “Stranger Things.” Lillis plays Syd, an awkward teen navigating high school along with the troubles of friendship and unrequited love. Her life changes in a big way when she realises that she may have superpowers. The trailer shows glimpses of Syd discovering her new gift, but dismissing it abruptly – “it’s probably just puberty.”

Lillis is joined by fellow “It” co-star Wyatt Oleff, along with Sofia Bryant (“The Good Wife”), Richard Ellis (“Should I Do It?”), Kathleen Rose Perkins (“Fresh Off the Boat”) and Aidan Wojtak-Hissong (“Falling Water”). The series is created by Jonathan Etwistle (“The End of the F***king World”) who will also serve as a director on the show.

“I Am Not Okay With This” is the latest in a long line of coming-of-age tales from the streaming giants, with the trailer giving major “Stranger Things” vibes in particular. Netflix recently revealed the teaser trailer for the fourth season of their hit supernatural show and “I Am Not Okay With This” is sure to appeal to the same audience looking to fill that gap for the time being.

Lillis has been breaking through in a big way the last few years, with her performance as Beverly Marsh in “It” and “It: Chapter Two” launching her to fame. She also starred in the acclaimed limited series “Sharp Objects” and the crime comedy “Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase” for which she played the titular role. Her 2020 schedule is looking increasingly busy, with “The Thicket” and “The Burning Season” currently in pre-production and may start shooting this year.

Netflix’s 2020 is also shaping up to be a big one, with the fifth season of “Better Call Saul” coming later this month and the third season of “Ozark” set to be released in March.

“I Am Not Okay With This” lands on Netflix Feb. 26, 2020. Check out the trailer below:
