Paramount Pictures have released a cautious brief teaser and first poster for “A Quiet Place Part II,” directed by John Krasinski.
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
“A Quiet Place” was released in 2018, generating a $340 million global box office grab. It was directed by Krasinski, who also starred as the father of the Abbott family. It found the family accustomed to this world of blind creatures who hunt by sound. Following the family, the film was able to create great sound editing and use the general absence of it to its advantage in elevating the thrills. The new film, evident buy the teaser and images, reveals it takes place not too long after the conclusion of the previous film. Blunt’s character, along with the kids, will have to continue surviving among new threats to their safety.
Krasinski returns to helm the sequel, with a script written by himself with story elements from his previous screenplay with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. The cast includes the returning Emily Blunt (“Mary Poppins Returns”), Millicent Simmonds (“Wonderstruck”) and Noah Jupe (“Honey Boy”) as well as Djimon Hounsou (“Shazam!”) and Cillian Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”). The new teaser trailer is also playing ahead of screenings for “Black Christmas.”
“A Quiet Place Part ll” is distributed by Paramount Pictures. It quietly steps into theaters March 20, 2020.
