WATCH: ‘The Hustle’ Trailer Shows Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson Plotting Some Scams

The trend of gender-swapped remakes and reboots is continuing. Last year, “Ocean’s 8” came out and became a box office smash. This past weekend, “What Men Want” was released. Now, “The Hustle,” a female-centered remake of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” is about to come out. Also, the trailer for the upcoming heist comedy has just been revealed.

In “The Hustle,” Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson play con artists from two different walks of life. One is more upper class and the other is more working class. Both plan on scamming a young billionaire (Alex Sharp) and taking his fortune. However, as their plot progresses, they realize that they have more in common than they think.

As it turns out, Anne Hathaway now has a penchant for starring in heist comedies. After winning raves for her supporting role in “Ocean’s 8,” she’s continuing to flex her comedy muscles. Also, after “Serenity” fizzled upon its release, she’s already managed to survive its severe underperformance. As for Rebel Wilson, the trailer comes out at a perfect time for her. Her newest starring vehicle “Isn’t It Romantic?” comes out tomorrow. But the trailer for “The Hustle” shows that she has more comedic leading roles on the horizon.

Jac Schaeffer, who is writing the upcoming “Black Widow” solo film and co-wrote “Captain Marvel,” penned the script. Also, British comedian Chris Addison is at the film’s helm. Plus, along with Alex Sharp, the rest of the supporting cast includes Tim Blake Nelson, Ingrid Davies, and Dean Norris.
