Rob Reiner‘s new film, “LBJ” has a release date and an official trailer.
The film, which stars Woody Harrelson in the title role, follows the 36th President from
his loss to JFK in the 1960 Democratic primary through the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Academy Award nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh (“The Hateful Eight”) plays First Lady Lady Bird Johnson. Also starring are C. Thomas Howell as Walter Jenkins, Bill Pullman as Richard Yarborough, Richard Jenkins as Richard Russell, and Michael Stahl-David as Robert Kennedy.
Director Rob Reiner received an Academy Award for “A Few Good Men” in 1992. In addition, he received a number of Golden Globe nominations for directing “Stand By Me,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “The American President.”
The script was written by Joey Hartstone, who is best known for producing the Emmy-winning reality series “Project Runway.” He is also writing Reiner’s next film, “Shock and Awe,” which also stars Woody Harrelson.
“LBJ” is being distributed by Electric Entertainment and will be in theaters on November 3.
