Weinstein Co. picks up ‘Tracks’ starring Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver

Harvey seems to be having an incredibly busy fall this year. In addition to the Weinstein Co having several big players premiering at upcoming festivals, they have just picked up the U.S. rights for Venice Film Festival slecetion Tracks. The film, directed by John Curran, stars Mia Wasikowska as a young woman Robyn Davidson, who in 1977, set off on a 1,700 mile journey across Australia with just her dog and a few camels in tow. Tracks is adapted from Davidson’s best selling novel of the same name and also stars Adam Driver as a National Geographic magazine photographer who joins her at several points.

The flick is playing Telluride and will make a stop at the Toronto Film Festival, which starts on September 5th with the Weinsteins angling for a 2014 release.
