The pick of the day is a bit of a detour from the last couple Fridays. With a lot of Netflix award contenders becoming available, tonight’s focus shifts to the latest action spectacle from director Michael Bay. Mixed with the first episode of the greatest cinematic saga of all time, look to your televisions as the destination for this evening’s entertainment.

Known for some of the biggest, loudest films ever made, Michael Bay’s newest action-thriller lands in the comfort of your home rather than the big screen. In “6 Underground,” we follow six assassins who form a group to take down dangerous criminals. Brought together by a charismatic leader (Ryan Reynolds), they each fake their own deaths so the bad guys can’t see them coming. But when trouble strikes, they must come together as one to change their future while also redeeming their past mistakes. Mélanie Laurent, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, Corey Hawkins, Ben Hardy and Dave Franco round out this impressive-looking hit squad. Look for “6 Underground” to be a fun-as-hell adrenaline rush from beginning to end.

With the final installment in the “Star Wars” saga coming at the end of the month, it is time for fans to take a deep dive into the previous eight entries. “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” revolves around two Jedi knights (Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor) and their effort to protect Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman) from impending doom during a contentious trade negotiation. Along their journey, the Jedi come in contact with a young boy named Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), whom they believe has the potential to bring balance to the force. With lavish visual effects, memorable characters and another brilliant score from composer John Williams, take the plunge into a galaxy far, far away before “The Rise of Skywalker” lands on December 20th.
