What’s on TV? – Monday (02/04/19) – Tune In For ‘Grave Mysteries’ and ‘Man With A Plan’

As we head into February, we find most shows have returned from winter hiatus. Looking at what’s on tonight, plenty of your favorite shows are bound to be airing new episodes. However, there are still a couple of key premieres to keep things interesting if you are looking for something different tonight.

“Grave Mysteries” (ID) at 9 p.m. ET

Who doesn’t love a good murder mystery? Investigation Discovery basically dedicates its entire programming to fans of a true crime narrative. “Grave Mysteries” returns to ID for its second season on 9 p.m. ET. The miniseries finds police going after the most challenging of cases. In order to solve the central murders, the police go to great lengths to reconstruct the victim’s life leading up to their murder. The first episode of season 2 uses digital clues to reconstruct how a teenage girl went missing from her own home. For those looking for the intersection of recreation and mystery, “Grave Mysteries” seems right up your alley.

“Man With a Plan” (CBS) at 8:30 p.m. ET

Everyone’s favorite friend is back on TV. Matt LeBlanc returns to CBS with “Man With a Plan.” The show premieres its third season tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET. The basic premise throws LeBlanc’s character Adam head first into parenthood once his wife goes back to work following the decline of his business. However, things have changed. Season 3 picks up with Adam and his wife Andi (Liza Snyder) working for the same company. Adam must bring his workplace up to code to withstand Andi’s expectations.

The rest of the programs on tonight have returned from hiatus. However, despite no returning programs, there are still plenty of new episodes from everyone’s favorite Monday programs. Please check out the “New Episodes” section to find out if your favorite show will be new tonight.

For those looking for more than just easy viewing, TMC has quite an offering for you. Mike Nichols’ underrated “Closer” premieres at 10 p.m. ET tonight. The film examines a quartet of Londoners whose sexual dalliances and traumas connect each other. Jude Law and Julia Roberts play a self absorbed writer and wandering photographer, respectively. However, Oscars was more focused on Clive Owen and Natalie Portman in the supporting categories. Owen plays a foul-mouthed cuckhold, while Portman is an enigmatic exotic dancer. The plot weaves together in interesting, surprising ways that keeps one engaged. One finds themselves drained by the end of the film. Yet, it’s a wonderfully necessary journey to go on.
