bachelor

Whether you’re in the mood for some sex, drugs and religion (“The New Pope”) or maybe just a groovy, fun ride through the galaxy (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Monday night has got you covered. There’s lots of tragic romance (“The Notebook,” “Titanic,” “The Bachelor” or “90 Day Fiancé: Watch Party”), family laughs (“Big Daddy,” “Are We There Yet” or “Despicable Me 3”) and even some thrilling action (“Transformers,” “John Wick: Chapter 3: Parabellum,” “Black Lightening” or “Live PD“) to tickle whatever your fancy is tonight.

Pick of the Day:

“The New Pope” (HBO) at 9:00 p.m. ET

In the third episode, Secretary of State Voiello is still scheming and maneuvering behind the scenes while trying to play puppet master to the “new” pope John Paul III played by John Malkovich. Jude Law‘s Pope Pius XIII is still hovering between life and death, but still a major part of the papacy even while the “New Pope” reflects on his past while preaching that “all we need is love.”

Movies on TV:

“The Notebook” (Freeform) 8:00 PM ET

One of the most touching and memorable romance movies, “The Notebook” is bound to have you in your emotions tonight…have the tissues handy. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams play madly-in-love, young, star-crossed lovers in the 1930s. Their relationship is tested by time and circumstances…but true love endures. James Garner and Gene Rowlands tenderly play the couple in their later years. This one is a definite must-watch, whether its “date night,” “girl’s night” or just a quiet night alone at home.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” (TNT) 7:30 p.m. ET

Marvel’s fun 2014 romp through the galaxy follows a group of intergalactic criminals who have to team up to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe. With an all-star cast that includes Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and a host of others, this film visually pops with witty dialogue, an amazing soundtrack that will have you singing along and compelling characters and solid action to boot.

“Big Daddy” (Lifetime) 10:00 PM ET

One of Adam Sandler‘s most memorable performances, 1999’s “Big Daddy” is filled with touching humor. This is the story of a lazy law school grad who foolishly adopts a kid to impress his girlfriend but ends up becoming an unlikely father and friend to the young boy. Also starring Cole and Dylan Sprouse as the adorable Julian, this film will make you laugh and cry tonight.
