What’s On TV? – Monday 10/14/19 – Inspirational True Stories & Tricky Relationship Dramas

Start your week off with a good mix of TV drama, inspirational true stories and real-life cop drama. Get wrapped up in the relationship drama of Dr. Shaun (“The Good Doctor”) or the rhythm of the beat on “Dancing with the Stars.” Or maybe a courtroom drama and some TV regulars are more your style (“Bluff City Law” or “All Rise”). Monday night’s viewing is off to a good start.

Pick of the Day:

“The Good Doctor” (ABC) at 10:00 p.m. ET

Season 3 of “The Good Doctor” brings Dr. Shaun’s (Freddie Highmore) love life to the forefront. In tonight’s episode, his relationship and Dr. Glassman’s (Richard Schiff) hit a few rocky road bumps. Dr. Neil (Nicholas Gonzalez) gets tested by a conspiracy theorist and Dr. Claire (Antonia Thomas) is confronted with a tricky patient who can’t feel pain, which is negatively impacting her life. Episode 4 will be full of drama, making for a compelling watch.

Darren Aronofsky‘s 2010 thriller, “Black Swan,” stars Natalie Portman as a ballerina struggling to maintain her sanity after winning the coveted lead role in a production of “Swan Lake.” Filled with drama (a rivalry between innocence and sensuality), beautiful cinematography and compelling performances from Portman (she won an Oscar for this role), Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey and Vincent Cassel among others, this award-winning nightmarish film is a must-watch.

“Remember the Titans” (BET) 9:00 PM ET

This feel-good 2000 film tells the true story of a new African-American football coach tasked to lead a newly racially integrated football team to victory in 1971. Denzel Washington stars at Coach Boone who, with the help of Coach Yoast (who was passed over for the head coach position) and his “take no mess” young daughter Sheryl (Hayden Panettiere), must unify and transform the boys into a solid team who overcomes their differences and life-changing obstacles. Also featuring Will Patton, Wood Harris, Ryan Gosling, Donald Faizon, Ryan Hurst and a cast of others, this inspirational sports drama is a memorable film to watch to start your week off right.
