NUP 189162 2347

Tonight’s lineup is filled with adaptations (“His Dark Materials” and “Silence of the Lambs”), sequels (“Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” “Predator 2,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 1”), originals/remakes (“Goodbye Mr. Chips,” and “Little Women”) and lots and lots of TV drama (“Bull,” “All American,” “Below Deck” and “Bluff City Law”).

Pick of the Day:

“Bull” (CBS) at 10:00 p.m. ET

In season four of “Bull,” Michael Weatherly‘s Dr. Bull continues to bring the courtroom drama with his cocky mix of human intuition and psychology. Following a heavy and difficult episode last week, viewers are curious to see which direction this week’s episode will go. All while dealing with Bull’s complicated feelings on his impending fatherhood. This is sure to be another quality episode worth the watch.

Movies on TV:

“American Gigolo” (TMC) 8:00 PM ET

american gigolo still 1980

This 1980 Richard Gere classic tells the story of a successful male escort falsely accused of murder while carrying on a relationship with a politician’s wife. Set in the heyday of 80s empty materialism, Gere shines in this role. Also starring Lauren Hutton, “American Gigolo” is an interesting and well-done cult classic well worth the watch tonight.

“Goodbye Mr. Chips” (TCM) 8:00 p.m. ET

Robert Donat Chips film version Greer Garson 1939

This romantic drama has seen many adaptations through the years, but this 1939 version holds its own in a year of iconic films (i.g. “Gone With the Wind,” “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” and “The Wizard of Oz”). Starring one of the biggest names of classic Hollywood, Greer Garson, and Robert Donat, “Goodbye Mr. Chips” tells the touching story of an aging teacher and headmaster as he recalls and the people and moments that make up his life. With stellar performances, memorable characters and thoughtful and believable storyline, this is definitely a must see for any movie lover.

“Little Women” (CMT) 10:00 PM ET

Another film that has seen many iterations over the decades, “Little Women” is a classic. Starring some of the biggest names in Hollywood (Winona Ryder, Christian Bale, Kirsten Dunst, Susan Sarandon, Claire Danes and a host of others), this 1994 family drama follows the lives of the literary-famous March sisters as they come of age in the aftermath of the Civil War. Filled with memorable performances, beautiful production design and top-notch writing, this version completely stands on its own merits as a little feel-good gem that’s worth a watch tonight.
