Pick of the Day:

“All Rise” on CBS at 9:00 p.m. ET

Episode two of “All Rise” takes on a pretty timely subject this week in ICE detentions and undocumented immigration. In this week’s courtroom drama, Judge Lola (Simone Missick) must protect an undocumented immigrant offender in her courtroom from an ICE agent. Tune in to see how the show takes on the hot-button issue playing out in the real world.

Movies on TV:

“Dances With Wolves” (TMC) 8:00 PM ET

Kevin Costner‘s 1990 epic “Best Picture” winner, “Dances With Wolves,” tells the story of a lieutenant assigned to a remote Civil War outpost where he befriends the wolves and Native American peoples, drawing the ire of the military. Beautifully shot and directed by Costner, “Dances With Wolves” also features stellar performances from Mary McDonnell and Graham Greene among others. On the same sweeping scale as “Lawrence of Arabia,” this western drama is a slow burn, but well worth the watch.

“The Players Club” (BET) 8:58 PM ET

Cult classic, “The Players Club” is the story of young, single mother, Diana/Diamond (LisaRaye), working her way through college as a stripper. Diamond has to protect the cousin she brings into the profession, as well as her reputation and sanity while contending with rival strippers at The Playa’s Club. This 1998 film also stars Jamie Foxx, Monica Calhoun, Ice Cube, Terrance Howard, and Chrystale Wilson, as well as cameos and performances from some of the biggest comedians and rap artists of the time (e.g. Uncle Luke, Bernie Mac, Charlie Murphy, Faizon Love and Master P).
