What’s On TV? – Monday 12/30/19 – It’s a Good Night to Revisit Some Favorites

Now that the Christmas holiday is behind us, tonight’s lineup is bringing all the drama (from relationship drama to real-life scandals and cover-ups). Whether you’ve got an urge to watch some young superhero fare or reality TV crime and home improvement, Monday has got you covered.

Pick of the Day:

“90 Day Fiancé: Watch Party” (TLC) at 8:00 p.m. ET

Unexpected cult hit, “90 Day Fiancé” brings back all your favorites from past seasons to catch up on their romantic and K1 Visa journeys. This week, Anna questions her engagement while favorites Angela and Michael are back in the mix. Michael & Juliana get real about their financial future as Syngin prepares for a month apart from Tania. We also take a peek into Blake & Jasmin’s living situation as they face some unexpected changes. This is bound to an interesting watch tonight.

Movies on TV:

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” (ABC) 8:00 PM ET

The third iteration of the “Spider-Man” franchise just might be the most youthful and fun, giving you a real teenage Spider-Man feel. This addition to the franchise stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker while he struggles to balance life as an ordinary Queen’s high schooler with his alter ego, Spider-Man. Also starring Zendaya, Michael Keaton and Robert Downey, Jr. this is quite the entertaining and engaging reboot.

“Four Weddings and a Funeral” (Encore) 9:00 p.m. ET

With Hugh Grant in his floppy-haired rom-com heyday, “Four Weddings and a Funeral” is the story of a committed bachelor who just may have found love over the course of four weddings and a funeral. Also a touching story about friendship and acceptance, “Four Weddings” is an emotional roller coaster of a ride with a great supporting class including Andie MacDowell, John Hannah, Kristen Scott Thomas, Simon Callow and Charlotte Coleman.

“Spotlight” (TMC) 8:00 PM ET

Rachel McAdams, Mark Ruffalo, Brian d’Arcy James, Michael Keaton and John Slattery play Boston Globe journalists in the film, Spotlight.

This 2015 Oscar-winning drama tells the story of investigative journalists at the Boston Globe as they uncover the massive child molestation scandal and cover-up by the Catholic church. With an all-star cast featuring Rachel McAdams, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci, Liev Schreiber and John Slattery, “Spotlight is a great piece of cinema that shines a light on real-life events that will definitely reel viewers in tonight.
