What’s On TV? – Thursday (1/2/19) – A Night for ‘SVU’ Fans

“Law & Order” fans rejoice! Tonight one of the most storied programs is being honored in an hour-long primetime special. Today’s pick of the day is…

Pick of the Day:
“Paley Center Salutes Law & Order: SVU” (NBC) at 9:00 p.m. ET

The longest-running primetime show gets an evening of adoration from the Paley Center. Fans of the show have kept it on air for 21 seasons, which is enough to celebrate. Most shows are still on their winter hiatus, so if you are a fan of “Law & Order: SVU” this is a perfect night to catch this special.

Movies on TV:
“No Country for Old Men” (Encore) at 6:55 p.m. ET

The best film of the 2000s is airing tonight. The 2007 Oscar winner for Best Picture (along with Director, Supporting Actor and Adapted Screenplay) is one of the most nerve-wracking movies put on screen. Joel and Ethan Coen’s brilliant nail-biter is a game of cat-and-mouse between Josh Brolin’s character and Javier Bardem’s murderous psychopath (Bardem took home Best Supporting Actor for his performance.) The movie never fails to thrill, even after multiple viewings.

Other Movies on TV:

  • “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” (HBO2) at 6:10 p.m. ET
  • “School of Rock” (Flix) at 8:00 p.m. ET
  • “Little Women” (Sho2e) at 8:00 p.m. ET
  • “Paddington” (Nickelodeon) at 9:00 p.m. ET

Debuting Tonight:
