What’s On TV? – Thursday (12/12/19) – Keep Hanging Out With The ‘Toy Story’ Gang

TOY STORY THAT TIME FORGOT - "Toy Story That Time Forgot," a new Christmas special featuring your favorite characters from the "Toy Story" films, will air on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) and TUESDAY, DECEMBER 23 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET). During a post-Christmas play date, the "Toy Story" gang find themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. It's all up to Trixie, the triceratops, if the gang hopes to return to Bonnie's room in this "Toy Story That Time Forgot." (Disney/Pixar 2014) TRIXIE, MR. POTATO HEAD, REX, WOODY, ANGEL KITTY, BUZZ LIGHTYEAR, MR. PRICKLEPANTS, JESSIE, THE ALIENS

“Toy Story 4,” unsurprisingly, was one of the films that dominated the summer box office. The fourth installment in the series brought in those who grew up on the films, plus families introducing their kids to Woody, Buzz and the whole gang. If your family is looking for more time with the “Toy Story” gang, today’s pick of the day might help.

Pick of the Day:
“Toy Story That Time Forgot” (ABC) at 8:30 p.m. ET

In the 2014 short, set after Christmas, the toys are forced to go up against new dinosaur toys. There has a been a great deal of energy around the “Toy Story” franchise, so this short is a perfect way for the family to spend the evening.

Other Christmas Specials on:

  • “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” (ABC) at 8:00 p.m. ET
  • “Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways” (NBC) at 8:00 p.m. ET
  • “The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition” (ABC) at 9:00 p.m. ET

Movies on TV:
“21 Jump Street” (Spike) at 8:00 p.m. ET

The “21 Jump Street” reboot film was much better than it had any right being. It’s easy to groan and sigh whenever a reboot or television adaptation is announced but Phil Lord and Christopher Miller struck gold with this one. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum make for a great odd couple pairing and the laughs are consistent throughout the sharp script.

Other Movies on TV:

  • “17 Again” (CMT) at 8:00 p.m. ET
  • “Kill Bill: Volume 2” (Fuse) at 8:00 p.m. ET
  • “Girls Trip” (FX) at 8:00 p.m. ET
