Will Mariah Carey Be an Oscar Nominee This Time Next Year?

If you are as obsessed as we are when it comes to predicting the Oscars, you’ve probably already began predicting the awards forcarey next year. If so, then you’ll probably be jotting down Mariah Carey’s name as a contender in the Original Song field after learning that she will be recording the end song for Oz The Great and Powerful. Now we all know it is foolishness to be predicting the awards this far out, but when did that ever stop us from having our fun, right? With the recent changes the Academy’s music branch has enforced, it seems we will be more and more likely to see big stars in this category in the foreseeable future (think: Adele and Norah Jones this year). So while it is way too soon to know anything (especially without having even heard the song), can you envision Ms. Carey as an Oscar nominee?

What do you think?
