Xavier Dolan to direct Jessica Chastain in his English Language Debut

Jessica Chastain seems set for another awards campaign with a slew of high profile films to be released this year. The prolific actress is already looking ahead though, with a number of exciting projects lined up. One of them is an enticing collaboration with Canadian wunderkind Xavier Dolan. The 25 year-old Québec will direct the actress in his English language debut titled The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan. Production is very much in the early stages but the premise is a Hollywood satire where Chastain plays a magazine editor who is out to ruin the lives of several stars. Dolan has built up a strong following among cinephiles over the years, but maybe this is the film which will bring him mainstream visibility. Until then we’ll continue to wait patiently for a US release date for Tom at the Farm (the film he made even before Mommy). His talent certainly deserves better distribution.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan is expected to begin shooting in 2015.
