Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is not yet three weeks old and already rumors of a subsequent “Batman” spin-off film have been flying around. The director of the film, Zack Snyder, says he would love to see none other than star Ben Affleck direct the spin-off.

Speaking to, Snyder said, “I keep working on [Affleck], he’s always said he’s a one-movie-at-a-time guy. He’s finishing editing his film ‘Live By Night’ and then he comes to ‘Justice League,’ and then after that, I think he’s going to try and develop the story. Then we’ll see if he likes it.”

When pressed on if Affleck would also direct the new film, Snyder replied, “Oh yeah, for sure. I think he would. I think that’s kind of the prerequisite, hopefully, for him doing [the film].

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which was released in theaters March 25, has grossed around $683 million worldwide so far despite its lackluster reviews from critics.

Affleck is no stranger to directing or writing. He just wrapped filming on his upcoming Prohibition crime drama film “Live by Night,” which he directed, wrote and starred in alongside Zoe Saldana, Chris Cooper and Scott Eastwood. He also directed the Best Picture-winning film “Argo,” as well as “The Town” and “Gone Baby Gone,” both of which were highly acclaimed films. He also wrote the screenplays for the latter two films.

Interestingly, IMDB already lists the “Untitled Batman Reboot” as an upcoming project for Affleck as director, writer and star. Affleck has yet to officially confirm or deny his future involvement in the projects.

Affleck will reprise his role as Batman in August’s “Suicide Squad,” as well as in “Justice League Part One,” which is slated for a 2017 release, and “Justice League Part Two,” which is scheduled for 2019. He will also appear in “The Accountant” with Anna Kendrick later this year.
