Zack Snyder Officially directing ‘Justice League’

zack-snyder-says-superman-and-batman-in-justice-league-filmThis has been basically wrapped up for a while now, but over the weekend it became a done deal, as Man of Steel helmer Zack Snyder is signed, sealed, and delivered to get back in the director’s chair for the much anticipated Justice League movie after his Man of Steel sequel Batman vs Superman (or whatever it winds up being called). Snyder may not be the absolutely ideal choice, but I liked what he did with Superman more than I didn’t, so I’ll be interested to see how he evolves these characters in the upcoming films. There’s not even a release date for this one yet, but it’s in the works. Take a look at some details below and feel free to speculate on further superhero casting for Justice League members.

Here’s the story from Variety:

Warner Bros. is lining up a super-slate for the next few years, as it has set a “Justice League” movie to follow the Batman-Superman movie, the studio has confirmed.

WB has locked in Zack Snyder to direct, the helmer of “Man of Steel” and its sequel, which goes into production next month. The script for the third pic in the series is currently in development.

“Justice League” currently has no release date, though the Batman-Superman film is set for May 6, 2016.

Like Disney’s “The Avengers,” which brings together some of Marvel’s most popular heroes, “Justice League” culls the biggest superheroes from the DC universe. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are staples of the Justice League.

Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the Batman-Superman pic, with Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot tapped to play Wonder Woman.
